On your first visit to our office, please arrive 30 minutes early to fill out all new patient information forms. Be sure to bring your picture ID and your insurance card. Without your insurance care we will not be able to see you as having insurance coverage, but we would see you as a cash patient.

While we do our best to stay on schedule, emergencies do happen, so thank you for your patience when they do.

As a courtesy to us and other patients, we ask that you give a 24 hour notice should you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This will free up your appointment time for another patient that needs to come in.

Epidural anesthesia may do more than relieve pain during labor; in some women it may decrease the likelihood of postpartum depression, suggests a preliminary study presented at the ANESTHESIOLOGY® 2016 annual meeting.

An international study coordinated by professor Cristina Campoy from the department of Paediatrics at the University of Granada (UGR) has showed that breastfed infants born to obese women keep a lower weight over the first 6 months of life in comparison with those who weren’t fed with breast milk.

When it comes to birth control methods, women have more options than ever before. However, for men, the choice is limited to condoms, withdrawal, and vasectomy. A new study – published in the Endocrine Society’s Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism – has established that a male birth control shot is effective at preventing pregnancy

Analysis by a Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) led team looking at the effectiveness of different elements of the post mortem process shows that, despite full standard investigation, in the majority of cases of stillbirth the cause remains unknown. The papers highlight the need for further research to improve post mortem techniques to better detect a cause of death.

Babies born to severely overweight mothers have a greater chance of developing conditions such as ADHD, research has found.

The majority of women who chose nitrous oxide (laughing gas) to manage labor pain, ultimately decide to have an epidural, according to new research presented at the ANESTHESIOLOGY® 2016 annual meeting. Researchers found nitrous oxide provided limited pain relief, with patients reporting no change in average pain scores after its use.

Among older women residing in nursing homes, administration of cranberry capsules compared with placebo resulted in no significant difference in presence of bacteriuria plus pyuria (presence of bacteria and white blood cells in the urine, a sign of urinary tract infection [UTI]), or in the number of episodes of UTIs over l year, according to a study published online by JAMA. The study is being released to coincide with its presentation at IDWeek 2016.

Older women are usually considered at greater risk of pregnancy complications than younger women. However, when it comes to stroke during pregnancy, a new study suggests it is younger women who are most at risk

For early postmenopausal women concerned about the effectiveness of low-dose estrogen therapy for alleviating menopause symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, insomnia, and irritability, data from the Kronos Early Estrogen Prevention Study (KEEPS) was used to compare the efficacy of two forms of hormone therapy (HT) on menopause symptoms compared with placebo over 4 years. Results of the study were published in the journal of The North American Menopause Society, Menopause.

Traditionally, alcohol consumption and alcohol abuse have been more commonly associated with men than women. But as more women drink alcohol, a new analysis finds they are catching up with men at an unprecedented rate. This also means women are affected by the same harmful effects of alcohol as men, and the new study highlights the need for women-specific information and educational campaigns in order to reduce the negative effects of alcohol consumption.
